Since the start of 2014, I have been regularly exercising. I exercised twice to thrice a week. It was a simple 17-minute Zumba routine for flat abs. I also did standing abs workout by Fitness Blender as an alternative. I guess by now you know where my problem area is. I can see some cuts on my abs trying to form a six-pack. Or so I thought. The tummy area was still prominent. The fitness regimen was in preparation for a climb. My friends and I were supposed to climb Mt. Kinabalu last June. Then, May came where fiestas and homecoming abound. I did not exercise for a month and I ate to my heart’s delight.
September came and I turned another year older and I felt I need a fresh start with fitness. I exercised regularly and I stopped drinking coke. I followed three exercise videos for some time.
In case you want to try them, these are the youtube videos I follow:
[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HqmqwaFb1AM?rel=0] [youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aKFVZu_4Lq4?rel=0] [youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vve4BVTZ0QU?rel=0]I lost 5 pounds off my weight and 2 inches of my waistline. The holiday season came and for two weeks, I allowed myself to drink coke and enjoy some good food. I did not gain a lot so I am off to a good start in 2015
I never felt alone in my fitness journey. I am inspired by my friends, Grace, Shirly, May and Roselle, who are very determined to be fit and healthy. For the exercise routine, I tried other variations to keep it interesting. I tried Jillian Michaels – 30 Day Shred but I did not last long. I do not like workouts that involve me lying on the floor. Hopefully, that will change in time. I also tried Shaun T’s FOCUS T25 Base Kit – DVD Workout. I was out of breath and my legs hurt after. I was not willing to do the routine again.
My friend, Grace, posted a video of herself in her workout routine. It looked like something I can do. It was Les Mills Combat DVD Workout. I tried it and I love it. The routine is not that physically demanding but I sweat profusely after the workout. The workout is good for 60 days with 5 different routines. The routines are combinations of boxing, taekwondo and karate. There are also burpees, pushups (which I cannot do) and other exercise routine that I do not like. I still try them or replace them with jogging in place. I listen to my body. I try not to push too hard that would result to injury.
This is the schedule I am following.
I thank my friend, Grace, for introducing me to this workout. I am currently on my 6th day. So far, I am feeling good about this workout. Wish me luck!
How about you? Do you follow a fitness regimen?
This is really inspiring Sis, living healthy and feel is great is amazing feeling. Although I don’t exercise as much. Just being active inside the house doing chores is considered my exercise for the day. Quality control on food and soda is a MUST. Goodluck and I know you can do..you already on your 6th day and its great!:)

Try Jillian’s FIT in 30 🙂 Im not a fan of 30 day shred kasi pamatay sa legs (my weakest body part) Masubukan nga ang les mills. need to be fit again hehehe
I do Jillian’s 30 Day Shred and though her voice is super annoying and the music sucks the routine delivers results. It is the workout I keep coming back to. I love her Yoga meltdown as well
Good luck with your journey! I never did these things though, I feel like they give me slow progress. I’m more on hard core workouts like boxing, cross fit, and tmx.
i love the rhythm of zumba and some other routines but any exercise that can help me right now will be great. looks like something worth trying.
Way to go! Go go go! 🙂 Would be great if you complete the program! 😀
I use Fitness Blender as Well. I like that they have targeted workouts for specific needs and Fitness lesson instead of the “crazy overall” workouts. Great start so far
Awesome! I love Combat and I have their DVD too but I haven’t use it in awhile. Your post inspires me to get back to them again. I host Wellness Wednesday linky party. You should come and link up with us 🙂
Sounds like a great workout! Shaun T’s Insanity is the craziest one I have tried so far… if you can get through that, you truly can face anything! Sim @ simslife.co.uk
Keep it up and you will see great results!x
I love the videos that you shared.. will try it out as I too am wanting to get better shaped abs and loose the spare tummy.
Thanks for these abs workout videos, specially the short time ones. Haha! That is all the time I have, short. And my middle is getting really soft already.
I tried the Les Mills Combat and this one is really challenging and effective. Good luck on your fitness goals.
This fitness path is something we should continue all the way for the rest of our lives! It should be a daily thing once you get used to it!
I got hold of a series of Zumba workout instruction and love how my little daughters join in when I dance. That’s a fun way of keeping fit and enjoying. Glad to read about your amazing results. Keep it up!
Ohhhhhh.. I don’t follow any fitness-related regimen but I eat healthy naman. Although, i tried following healthjunkie’s videos before.:)
Hehe…suddenly I feel guilty sis. Dun sa coke part. I was actually successful limiting my Coke intake before since I knew I got pregnant. But this month, parang my rebound. I’ve been drinking more. With regard to fitness exercises, I’m not following any even when I wasn’t yet pregnant because I had a slim figure (naman hehe) pero I am mabilbil. Ewan ko lang after I give birth the second time kung ano na ang figure ko. I learned that my mom used to be as slim as I was, but after giving birth to me di na xa bumalik sa old figure nya. So maybe that time I’ll have a fitness regimen to follow na.
I really admire people who do such.
Thanks for sharing the videos. They will really come in handy. Would love to do this routine daily.
I have no specific exercise regime. Whatever comes to mind just to keep moving, be it dancing, yoga, some weight lifting and rebounding. 🙂
You bet any fitness program or exercise routine you regularly do, nothing will happen if discipline, commitment and self-control go out to the window. It’s a waste of time, effort, money and everything you invest for a fitness program.
You should definitely keep up the great work! Keeping fit is key to a great life! 🙂
Good for you to stick to the program. You have kept up your routines in a normal way with breaks in between. Keep it going! 🙂
It’s wonderful that you are disciplined in following these exercise routines. Keep it up! I wish I could exercise soon.
Great job for following a fitness plan. I love Hip hop abs exercises.
You’re inspiring me to workout again. I’ve not really been faithful in exercising. I’ve tried Les Milles, sample DVD and I like it, but honestly I’ve become quite sedentary. I really want to lose weight, but I will not unless I do something, right? I will start again, anyway, Chinese New Year is just a few days ahead. Can start again.
I have a problem naman sa puson area. Like you I can see that my tummy is about to form a 6-pack. Sabi ni Daddy A, based daw sa nababasa yun lower tummy area ang mahirap itrim down. Yun upper part is madali lang e. Hay natatamad akong magexercise up to now, sana magising ako ng maaga hehe.
Just last week, our company nurse asked me to write my (late) new year’s resolution. And I wrote to lose at maximum of 20 lbs in 6 months and to exercise regularly. I made a vow and I broke it. I already did Zumba Abs on the first two week of January but because of work travel, etc. as in nawala na naman.. Hopefully to get back on the routine. Hmmm.bukas kaya??? hehehe…
You are definitely a role model for me. I have started exercising since the past one month and I am really struggling to get the routine right. The videos will definitely help me 🙂
This is truly inspiring but no matter how I feel inspired, once laziness kicks in, it’s all done. hahaha!
Mommy and I started doing Zumba at home but we stopped due to busy schedules. Maybe we need to fix our schedule and give time for exercise for better health.
I love the flat abs work out since I need to really reduce my belly. Hirap ng humanap ng pants na kakasya. hahaha

All the very best for the journey Katrina! Hope you find the routine effective.
The crunchless abs work out looks fab, I will definitely be adding that into my routine.
I tried a 30-day work out challenge 3 months after I gave birth birth I wasn’t able to sustain it. The breastfeeding itself has made me thin, pero sana mawala ang pregnancy belly ko…
I am back to Fit in 30 and some pilates …by next week. Good luck to us.
