How was your Christmas? I wrote about my plans for Christmas in this blog post and here’s how I actually celebrated it.
We had a simple noche buena. We had ham, spaghetti, grapes, coke and mango float. What we lacked in the food department, we made up for it in the presentation. What we wanted was a leftover-free Christmas preparation. Preparing just enough is the key. And oh, after 3.5 months, I drank coke. It is my reward for this season. I’ll abstain again on January 2.
I also got to spend time with my nephew. We braved the crowded mall for arcade games and Jollibee.
I also explored a nearby resort with my travel friends.
Right now, we are under signal number 1 as tropical depression Seniang tries to make a landfall tomorrow in Tandag which is 180 kms from us. I am in my bed indulging this aircon weather. This is the kind of ‘me time’ I wanted to reward myself. However, as much as I enjoy this cold weather, I hope the heavy rains will do no harm so we can celebrate the rest of the holiday season meaningfully.
Wow what a Noche Buena preparation! Is that “simple”? Anyway, that is how you make yourself, your family become “unstress”? Aren’t you? That’s a kind of preparation for the NB. What about the wrath of TD “Seniang”? Another stressful moment if it’s taken for granted. Natural disaster like typhoon couldn’t be avoided nor prevented, but to be safe and secured is practical way for everyone to do. Prayer is useless when it isn’t coupled with preparation.
Oh, we got flooded with Seniang, Sir Gil! That morning after I wrote this post.
You must’ve enjoyed your Christmas. Happy New Year to you and your family 🙂
We didn’t do much this Christmas as HB was away for work. We did go to a friends house for a BBQ dinner thought 🙂
We had a simple Noche Buena too. On the Christmas day we went to hear a Mass. We considered going to the mall but decided to just go home because for sure there are many people na. So went home and continue crocheting 🙂
Our Christmas was so much fun. I enjoyed the kids opened their presents and we went to my in-laws house for Christmas dinner and another gift exchange. You noche buena looks really good. Is that coke zero Sis? I wasn’t sure if it is, curious lang ang peg. Thanks for sharing those great pictures and I’m sure the memories behind it is just GREAT! Happy New Year:)
Regular coke. No other type of coke tastes as good. 🙂 Happy new year, Melgie!
I love your Christmas presentation of the food. Being together during Christmas is valuable, however simple the activities may be.
Like you, I just prepare food enough for the family because I dislike too much leftover. I like it more because we can spend stress-free holiday.
